The evolution of the engagement ring has taken many forms over the years, starting with a simple classic band of gold in the 1900??s to the wide range of choices available today. Over the past 10 to 15 years however, we have seen such a variety of engagement ring choices hit the market, especially with the overwhelming trend to personalise jewellery featuring strongly in consumer drivers.

This huge push for individualism has been one of the key considerations for us when developing our CAD service, as we can ensure that each ring is unique and one of a kind with our customers designs. Through offering this service, our team has also seen some strong trends emerge over the past few years with the current generation of Brides, many of whom want a simple twist on a typically classic design of today.

Using our JewelMounts range we have isolated the most popular of these designs, creating the most desired combinations using a range of mounts, shanks and settings. By far, still one of the most of the popular trends after a few years in the spotlight is the Halo Diamond Engagement ring. We have seen recently this gorgeous design take on more personalised shapes, by adding elements of Rose Gold into a predominantly White Metal design, and some Brides choosing to have a range of different diamond cuts in their design rather than simply the classic Brilliant. Engagement rings centre stones are not limited to simply Brilliant and Princess anymore, we have seen a significant shift towards some beautiful trends using Asscher Cut, Rose Cut, Emerald Cut and Radiant Cut diamonds and even coloured stones.

Many Brides (or their Grooms) are also choosing to add their own stamp to a design by adding tiny detailed features to their ring, like a small scroll of Rose of Yellow Gold, or a tiny diamond set into the inside of the shank.

The three stone, or multi stone engagement ring is also strengthening in popularity with todays Brides, many embracing the look of a larger spread of stones across the finger. This coupled with the Halo effect, makes for an incredibly striking design and one that our JewelMount designers have worked hard to perfect.
